weather or not

I'd rather not have weather..at least not what we've been having.  I'm wishing for sunny, 80 degrees with a light wind blowing.. and I'm getting rain and mid 50's (yes 50's) and sometimes no wind..which then is not to bad..but if the wind does blow it's not warm!  Lows at night have been down into the 40's..and even dipping to the 30's.  The market garden is growing nowhere fast.

But, there are new baby bunnies in the barn.  Supplies are looking at least a bit better.  The air is filled with the sounds of apple orchards with tractors and sprayers all around.

Ok life is good...

There is a new grand baby making it's way into our lives..but not til December.  Pretty excited for David and Anna.  Can't wait to find out if it is a girl or boy so my crochet hook can get going!

about rabbits

well today's post is about rabbits.  I know, shocking eh?

Have a bunch of does due in the next few days.  There is one I'm concerned she isn't going to put the babies in the box.  I threatened her, but don't think she was listening.  So we are checking her yet before bed and first thing in the morning.  I am finally getting more mini rex litters and that is exciting to me.  I hope to have a bunch of them squirming in their warm nest boxes over the next few days.

Started a bunch too =:)  Bred over 40 does today

November...wow... about time I post something again.  I can't post everything I've made since then as it would take up so much space.

I have started making chemo hats.  I began the journey when a friend (ok another rabbit head too) had to go in for chemo for the 2nd time for lung cancer.  First time was colon cancer.  I started making the hats when I went to visit her and found the hats that were there were either to big, to small or made of yarns that were not soft as a chemo hat needed to be.  Above are just the ones I've finished recently.  The hat on the bottom left... I was making that hat at the hospital last week Wednesday.  You see, Marilyn ended up in the hospital last week, 2 weeks after her last chemo treatment.  Her body ravaged by the chemo that was to heal her, also took it's toll and even though she may have been willing to keep fighting, her body was not.  She went home to heaven at 4:30 that morning.

I will continue to make hats in Marilyn's honor, and in the honor of those that have also lost, and for those that are still fighting.  May you win the battle.

Hugs,
Mary
